Sample Application Registration

The Federal Employee Time Off application tracks employee leave (vacation) requests and employee sick time.

The Federal Employee Time Off application includes the Serena PDFWidget which allows the creation of PDF from the data entered on the Business Manager form. This means that you can create a PDF file which can be printed or stored depending on what your department requires.

By default, the PDFWidget uses the PDF form, OPM 71 Request for Leave or Approved Absence, from the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM). If needed, you can configure the application to work with other PDF forms by mapping the Serena Business Manager fields to the fields on the PDF form.

Important: The Federal Employee Time Off application includes the PDFWidget, which requires Serena Business Manager 2009R1.03 or later.

Note: The Federal Employee Time Off application is similar to the Employee Time Off application from Serena Software. The main differences are:

• The Federal Employee Time Off application includes the PDF generation widget which references the OPM 71 form.
• The Employee Time Off application has an additional workflow for use with Sick Time Off requests.
